Leather Painting

Hosted by Jordan Piantedosi. Come enjoy some creative experiments painting on leather!  We will provide special leather paint, all supplies needed, scrap leather to practice on, & guidance to help you customize your unique project.

Please bring one or two leather objects (examples: bag, jacket, wallet, dress, shoes, etc) that you find a bit boring & ready for a colorful glow-up!

TIPS: Any leather works except for very glossy leather or patent leather, and pleather/PVA.  For leather shoes, suede is ideal because it’s very absorbent.  A beat-up pair of suede shoes can be completely transformed with a few coats of Angelus paint.  It’s an EXTREMELY satisfying experience that we would love to share with you!

Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit of paint on (hint: loud floral prints seem to absorb colorful drips & spills)

Snack and sip while you paint!

Margučiai: Lithuanian Egg Decorating

Come learn the wax pattern technique of Lithuanian egg decorating! Lithuanian Easter eggs are called margučiai. Though associated with Easter, the roots of margučiai are pagan. Margučiai are given to loved ones as good luck charms for the coming planting season. Join us in making some unique & delicate gifts/good luck charms for yourself and others while having fun!

For the wax pattern technique, we will use "blown-out" white eggs so that your artwork can be preserved. I will supply white eggs and will teach you how to extract the insides without breaking the shell.

*Please bring shirt or clothing you are not concerned about staining, and good spirit!
